It may be that your MAC's settings specify that .pdf files are immediately downloaded without giving you the option of first opening them. To fix this problem, you will need to change your settings problem.
To do this, go to the Preferences menu and open Receiving files on the left. Here, click on the File Helpers item, then scroll down the right window until you see Portable Document Format (PDF).
Click this item, then click the Change button at the bottom of the field. In the bottom of the window that then appears, click Handling and change the setting from Save to Disc to View with Application. Either Acrobat Reader has already been preset as the default application, or you can use Browse to select it. Confirm your change by clicking OK.
