REGFIRE® regenerative burners operate in pairs
Burner 1 generates the necessary heat by burning the fuel-air mixture
At the same time, burner 2 extracts the hot exhaust gases
In the process, the exhaust gases transfer a large portion of their heat to the ceramic honeycomb bodies
After about 30 seconds, the burners switch over, and the pilot burner of Burner 2 initiates the combustion process
The combustion air now flows through the now-hot honeycomb body of Burner 2 and is preheated in the process
The exhaust gases leave the combustion chamber via burner 1 and heat its honeycomb body
After about 30 seconds, the switch occurs again and the cycle is complete
